In addition to being an experienced clinician, clinical supervisor, and trainer, Tom has years of experience in management and administration. His Division of Youth Corrections (DYC) career included managing secure residential treatment units at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center. Tom closed out his DYC career as the statewide Coordinator of Sex Offense Specific Services. In this role, he provided supervision and monitoring, program development, training, consultation, and technical assistance to the state operated treatment facilities. This latter role, in conjunction with his current memberships on the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board and the Board of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, has provided experience in the policy arena.

Clinical Supervision

Tom has provided clinical supervision for graduate students, professionals seeking licensure, and therapists seeking to become Sex Offender Management Board approved treatment providers. Tom is available to provide contractual clinical supervision for agencies or individuals.

Case Consultation

Tom is experienced in leading teams of professionals charged with treating and supervising sexually abusive youth. He is the past chair of the sex offense specific treatment department at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center. Tom is currently the facilitator of the Denver County Sexual Abuse Review Team (SART), an interdisciplinary group of professionals conducting case reviews for youth who are under the jurisdiction of social services and/or probation.

Program Development

Tom is very knowledgeable in regard to research, literature, and best practices in the assessment and treatment of sexually abusive adolescents. Program development includes the evaluation of conceptual frameworks, content, curricula, modalities, and practices. The goal is to design and implement programming that is consistent with research and best practices.
